Items Needed for New Teachers Luncheonimages

The Greater Franklin County Chamber of Commerce will host its annual New Teachers Luncheon on Tuesday, August 11.  All new educators in the Franklin County School system will be honored during the event, which will be sponsored by the Town of Franklinton.

Each year, the new teachers receive “goody” bags full of items donated by area businesses and individuals as they welcome them to the county.  Items that have been donated in the past include pencils, pens, note pads, paper, file folders, toothbrushes and toothpaste, paper towels, markers, notebooks, and key chains. This year, approximately 125 new teachers will be starting their career in Franklin County.

The teachers love the bags and are very appreciative.  If you are interested in donating any items, we would need 125 of each item. You can bring them to the chamber office at 112 East Nash Street or we would be happy to pick them up.  Deadline for accepting items is July 27.

Please call the office if you have any questions.  Thank you for supporting Franklin County’s newest educators!!
