2016 LEADERSHIP FRANKLIN

Leadership Franklin provided the diverse group of existing and emerging leaders with a unique opportunity to experience many of the challenges and opportunities facing Franklin County. Participants completed the three-month program that was comprised of a series of six full-day sessions. They experienced first-hand the resources that Franklin County has to offer including visits to Novozymes North America,  Wake Electric Membership Corporation, Triangle North Executive Airport, Franklin County Facilities, Franklin County Schools, Vance-Granville Community College and Louisburg College.  The group toured a broad range of Franklin County’s agricultural and livestock facilities and farms, and met with the Agricultural Extension Services, and were also taken to Raleigh and to the Legislative building, to see where legislation is debated that might affect commerce in Franklin County.

The objectives of the Leadership Franklin program are to identify and inspire potential community leaders to acquaint these leaders with major community issues and to examine the complexity of finding good solutions for ongoing concerns. In addition, the program allows participants the opportunity to meet and interact with community leaders as well as to investigate leadership ethics and values and to assist participants in expanding his/her leadership skills.
