Our Mission:

The Franklin County Chamber of Commerce Mission is to stimulate, motivate and energize the business community. This will be accomplished through the collaborative development and promotion of economic, educational and social opportunities.

About Your Chamber

The Franklin County Chamber of Commerce was founded in 1977 as the Greater Louisburg Chamber of Commerce. The official name of the Chamber was changed in 1988 to the Franklin County Chamber of Commerce, Inc.

The government, control, direction and work of the Chamber of Commerce is vested in a Board of Directors. The Board is comprised of 12 elected members who are leaders in the community. In addition, one Franklin County Commissioner, the Economic Development Director, and the immediate past Chairman of the Board are Ex-officio members of the Board.

The Board of Directors employs two full-time employees: an Executive Director who serves as secretary to the Board, and one full-time Administrative Assistant.

The objectives of the Franklin County Chamber of Commerce are to develop, encourage, promote and protect the commercial, professional, financial, general business, industrial, agricultural, civic, and residential interest of the Franklin County area, and to be a problem-solving, leadership catalyst of the Franklin County area.

The Chamber prints a monthly newsletter for its members, highlighting new members, promoting upcoming chamber events, and providing an opportunity for exposure and advertising for member businesses.

Numerous programs are available to Chamber members to assist them in meeting goals for their businesses, including Leadership Franklin, Women at Work, and a Chamber Ambassadors program.

The Chamber is involved in numerous community events, including the annual Christmas Parade, a golf tournament, a wine tasting event, and the popular Revive After Five featuring live music. Since 1990 the Chamber has hosted the annual Tar River Festival, a large regional community event that attracts thousands of people of all ages to Franklin County for live music, carnival rides, food and fun. These events help raise money for other Chamber programs and provide excellent networking opportunities for members.

The Chamber sponsors monthly Business After Hours events on the second Thursday of every month, allowing member businesses to host other members and teach others about their enterprise.

The Chamber also hosts well-attended and much-anticipated annual events, including:
  • An annual CEO Breakfast for local company leaders, addressing such issues as management and choosing healthcare providers.
  • "Eggs and Issues" - an annual event which provides an opportunity for members to meet their local political representatives and discuss important and sometimes controversial topics.
  • An annual Business Expo providing members an opportunity to showcase their services and products to the entire community.
  • The annual Chamber Banquet to recognize our Board of Directors, All Star Supporters, and other honorees.
The benefits of Chamber membership are vast. Networking opportunities include meeting and interacting with other county business leaders and professionals at Chamber events. Visibility and credibility for member businesses is achieved via listings in the Chamber Business Directory, presence on the Chamber web site, and referrals from the Chamber office. In addition, Chamber members can display their brochures in the Chamber office.

Chamber delegates represent member business concerns at local and state advocacy meetings and on an annual trip to Washington, DC. The Chamber keeps abreast of current legislative issues and informs its members when appropriate.
